Make The Snow Go Away

People often ask: Can you make the snow go away? The question comes up mostly between February and May, when editors start working on the Spring Issue. The problem is, they need to shoot a couple of months ahead of time, in order to be on schedule.

But as this is Minnesota, we have snow on the ground for more than half the year. Nobody wants to see it when they pick up a magazine in June.

The simplest solution is to shoot in the studio. Or go somewhere warm.

For this project, we did neither.

Instead, we drove north, to the virgin sands of Duluth, only moments after the last snowflake departed.

Anything's possible with a fantastic crew.
